At the Central Algoma Land Trust, every goal we reach is a team effort. To keep our programs running and our community growing, we rely on the tools and supplies that make our work possible. Whether you’re clearing out your garage, shopping our wish list, or donating funds to help us secure specific gear, your generosity puts the right tools in the right hands. Field Equipment

Binoculars - Help our team be able to identify distant wildlife while conducting wildlife monitoring surveys.

Trail Cameras - Our network of trail cameras on our protected areas collect valuable data, but they periodically need replacing.

Insect Nets - These will allow our team to conduct better surveys for butterflies, dragonflies, and other flying insects.

Snowshoes & Poles - Snowshoes help our team conduct field work in the winter months and they can also be loaned to community members to be able to participate in our guided snowshoe outings.

Power Banks - Power banks are needed for charging the moth traps.

AA Batteries - Batteries are constantly needed to power trail cameras, acoustic bat recorders, and other similar devices.

Laptops - We are looking for used laptops that our seasonal team members to use for basic web browsing and data entry.

Tablets - A tablet to easily and securely process donations and collect email signups while at public events would be beneficial.

Office Chairs - Ergonomic office chairs are needed to ensure we have enough seating for our seasonal contract team members this year.


How to Contribute

If you would like to help us secure the equipment and supplies listed above, please choose from the following options:

  • Donate Gently Used Items: If you own an item similar to what is on our wish list, it is in good working condition, and you no longer have a use for it, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us to discuss the item and make arrangements for the donation.

  • Purchase an Item Directly: Many items on our list include a link to a specific item. You can purchase these directly and have them shipped to us at the address below, or ship them to yourself and deliver them in person. If there are any questions before ordering, please contact us.

  • Make a Targeted Donation: If you prefer to provide the funds for us to purchase an item directly, you can make a financial donation. We ask that these donations be "above and beyond" your regular annual giving to ensure our general operations still receive enough support. Please contact us before donating so we can ensure your donation is allocated to the correct item.
