As a nonprofit, charitable organization, the Central Algoma Land Trust (formerly The Kensington Conservancy) relies heavily on the generosity of the local community to carry out its work. Community support helps protect the natural spaces, wildlife, and rural character that make the region so special. Every donation, big or small, plays a vital role in preserving Central Algoma for generations to come.

Monthly giving is the easiest way to support conservation. You set it once and your impact continues all year long without having to remember.

Tribute Donation

Make a donation in honour or memory of someone special. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate their love for nature while supporting lasting conservation.

Donations can be made in person at the Central Algoma Land Trust Conservation Centre, located at 69 Boyer Drive in Desbarats. The centre is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. However, as staff are sometimes out in the field during regular hours, it is recommended to call ahead at 705-782-2200 before making a special trip. Cash, cheques, and major credit cards are accepted.

Donate by Mail

Supporters can make a donation through e-transfer quickly and securely using their online banking. E-transfer donations can be sent directly to the Central Algoma Land Trust at donate@calt.ca and auto-deposit is enabled so no password is required. Donors are asked to include their full name, email, and mailing address in the message so that a charitable tax receipt can be issued.

Donate via E-Transfer

Donating securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.) to the Central Algoma Land Trust is a tax-smart way to support local land conservation. By giving securities directly, you may avoid paying capital gains tax while still receiving a charitable tax receipt for the full market value. This means your gift can go further in protecting the natural places you care about. To make a donation of securities, please download our Securities Donation Form and follow its instructions.

If you would like to make a donation to one of the Central Algoma Land Trust’s specific funds, such as the Stewardship Fund, Land Protection Fund, or Operational Endowment Fund, donors are encouraged to contact the land trust for more information.
